Nianyi Hong, PhD, MA

Nianyi Hong is a health economist interested in U.S. health policy, particularly Medicaid and population health. He works primarily on issues relating to Medicaid, health insurance modeling, and population health at the Congressional Budget Office. He is fascinated by questions about how and to what extent economic forces can and do shape the health of populations and individuals; behavioral interventions to improve these factors; and how policies in public insurance in the United States can be used to improve financial and health outcomes. His prior education is a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA from Dartmouth College.
