Megan E. Read, MPH

Megan Read is the Director of Online & Hybrid MPH Programs at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College. In this role, she leads initiatives that prepare public health professionals to address complex health challenges through evidence-based practice and cross-sector collaboration. Megan began her career as a clinical laboratory scientist in the microbiology lab at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), where she identified pathogens and developed a strong interest in disease prevention and public health. While working full-time, she earned her Master of Public Health from the University of New Hampshire, broadening her focus from the lab bench to population-level health.
After completing her MPH, Megan joined DHMC’s infection prevention team, collaborating with clinicians, administrators, and quality improvement staff to reduce hospital-acquired infections through data analysis and evidence-based practices. She also earned a Green Belt in Continuous Improvement from Dartmouth Hitchcock’s Value Institute, a skill set she continues to apply in her work on a regular basis.
Since 2019, Megan has worked at Dartmouth College, partnering with faculty, students, and collaborators across disciplines to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. She is committed to fostering a safe space based on mutual respect and open-mindedness where all students can thrive academically.
Outside of work, Megan loves exploring the outdoors with her two children, Hughin and Henry, and their dogs, Everest and Denali.
