Vincent Pellegrini, MD

Department of Orthopaedics, and The Dartmouth Institute

I am an orthopaedic hand surgeon at D-H, Vice Chair for Education and Research Affairs in the Department of Orthopaedics at D-H, and Principal Investigator of a large multi-center PCORI-funded pragmatic clinical trial comparing the effectiveness and safety of three commonly used anticoagulants after total hip and knee replacement.

Some of my personal interests are my grandchildren, swimming, golf, and preserving the "academic" in academic medicine.

Top Travel Destinations:
Italy, specifically Tuscany, so I can practice my Italian and eat; Aspen, CO; and Seabrook, SC.

If you could go to the Olympics for any sport what would it be?
Swimming - as a lifelong competitive swimmer, it is the best surrogate for both personal discipline and conditioning... and it feels such a relief when you have finished your event!
