Scott Pompa, MD

Department of Medicine, and Department of Medical Education

I am a rheumatologist and the interim program director of the Rheumatology Fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. I teach the rheumatology portion of the Rheumatology–Dermatology–Orthopedic course at the Geisel School of Medicine and am involved in problem-based learning (PBL) and the On Doctoring program.

Some of my personal interests alongside my new role as interim program director, are spending most of my time parenting, staying active with weightlifting, and focusing on healthy eating. I played football in high school and baseball in college, and I’m now tackling the challenge of learning to ski. I also enjoy reading—most recently the Rising series—plus anime and dancing.

Top Travel Destinations:
Japan, Lucerne, Switzerland, and Budapest.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
I’d choose “life-hopping” — the ability to fully step into another person’s day, experiencing their perspective, memories, and world for a brief period of time, but without consequence.

If you could go to the Olympics for any sport what would it be?
Skateboarding, Snowboard Halfpipe, or breakdancing.
