Betsy Harrison, MA LCMHC

Betsy is Geisel Counseling’s Director of Clinical Services and a founding partner of Counseling Associates. Betsy directs the Geisel Counseling program at Counseling Associates and is the liaison with Student Affairs and Administration at the School of Medicine.

Betsy has been with Geisel Counseling since its launch in 2019 and previously provided direct student services. Her work with students largely focused on her specialty areas of anxiety and stress management, navigating transitions, grief and loss, and relationship issues. Betsy draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Integrative Health Coaching and relational approaches in her clinical work and supervision.

Betsy is certified as an Integrative Health Coach by the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona where she has also served as a Mentor-Supervisor.

Betsy is also a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator. The Daring Way™ is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. The process explores topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness, themes confronting many students at different points in their medical school, professional and personal experiences.

Betsy has over 20 years of clinical experience in private practice, medical and community mental health settings.
