About Dr. Matous:

Dr. Matous is a physician at the Dartmouth Cancer Center. She is committed to delivering exceptional care to each patient she meets in the clinic – through patient-centered, multidisciplinary care - and beyond - though innovative research collaborations. Her current projects include designing clinical trials and using novel technologies to improve the quality and safety of radiation treatments, ensuring that patients have the best outcomes possible.

As patients live longer after a cancer diagnosis, many face new health challenges related to their prior cancer treatments. By using tools such as Cherenkov imaging, Dr. Matous seeks to understand how optimizing radiation treatment delivery can minimize treatment-related adverse effects. She is also interested in developing evidence-based strategies for re-irradiation, as some patients may benefit from a second course of treatment.

Dr. Matous has an active academic footprint spanning local, regional, and national oncology communities. She has served as the inaugural Radiation Oncology Resident Liaison for the Northern New England Clinical Oncology Society, has been a featured speaker for the Oncology Nursing Society of New Hampshire / Vermont, has developed educational resources for the Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology, and has presented her work at NCI collaborative group meetings and other national forums.
