Other professional information: I am a double major student of mathematics and statistics. Ever since my entering SMU in 2018, I have kept a GPA of 3.69/4.0. Meanwhile, I have finished all the professional courses of mathematics and statistics, among which most are advanced courses of level 43xx. And I still maintain a core GPA of 3.89/4.0 for all my professional courses.

I taught myself the SIR Model, and I used this SIR Model to help me analyze the propagation pattern of COVID-19, which has become my future research topic. I found my enthusiasm for mathematics and statistics further promotes me to dig into applied mathematics in my future studies. While finishing all the professional compulsory courses at school, I also have several experiences in scientific research. For example, in the summer of 2021, I participated in the project of REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) held by SMU. Besides, I also took advantage of what I have learned in statistics and mathematics to research my interested fields. For instance, I led my group to write the essay “Effect of Vaccination as Impediment on Spread of COVID-19” and get it published in 2021 8th International Conference on Bioinformatics Research and Applications (ISBN: 978-1-4503-8426-1). My research interests are: I hope that in the future, my research will focus on biomedicine and big data analytics. In biomedicine, I hope to study the effects of drugs on disease suppression, similar to pharmacological analysis. I would like to focus on whether a drug is having a natural impact on a disease all the time and the possible adverse effects of the drug. I want to study individual behavior patterns and personality analysis in terms of big data. For example, I want to analyze a person's behavioral patterns through their recent search and browsing preferences.

Career track: Both Industry and Academia

My career goals are: My ultimate academic goal is to obtain a Ph.D. and work on big data analytics and biopharmaceuticals.

I chose QBS because: With my personal goals in mind, QBS provides an excellent platform for me to not only add to my biology knowledge but also learn more about big data. Also, with Dartmouth's strong alumni network, it is easy for me to get further help in big data analytics and biological research.
