Join us for the AAMC CMO Leadership Academy and equip yourself with the critical leadership skills and knowledge you need to successfully meet the business and administrative demands of your role.
What to Expect
The AAMC CMO Leadership Academy’s curriculum, developed by teaching hospitals and health systems CMOs, is uniquely designed to address common challenges that academic CMOs face.

Over the course of this 15-month program, you will take part in thought-provoking plenaries and highly interactive small-group breakout sessions while building meaningful connections with peers during plentiful networking opportunities. We purposely keep our cohorts small to provide an intimate and interactive experience for our attendees.
Application Criteria
The CMO Leadership Academy is designed for CMOs who are in the first four years of the role, and those preparing to assume the role in the next one to three years. Applicants must meet all the following criteria to be considered:
- Be from an AAMC member institution, affiliate or teaching hospital
- Obtain support from the CEO of your teaching hospital, Dean of your medical school, or appropriate senior leader to ensure program fit
- Identify a care redesign project to implement while participating in the program
- Commit to attending all in-person and virtual meetings
