The NCFDD Update: May 2023 Edition

There are many ways to use NCFDD resources to bolster your faculty development efforts and cultivate a supportive campus community. Specifically, our Core Curriculum webinars are a great way to bring your faculty together to engage in transformative practices while fostering relationships across different departments.

Ohio University's Thriving in Academia: Early Career Faculty Learning Community (Thriving FLC) uses the 10 Core Curriculum webinars and associated resources to help new faculty explore strategic planning, academic time management, mentorship, and other foundational skills. They meet in person once a month during the academic school year to view the Core Curriculum webinars and work through the exercises while also having invaluable discussions about the ups and downs of academia.

The University of Oregon also uses the Core Curriculum to supplement their New Faculty Success Program. New faculty members meet monthly and connect with small groups to discuss the Core Curriculum webinars and engage in faculty panel discussions.

FAQ of the Month
What is included in the Institutional Membership Engagement Report, and when can we access it?
Evaluating how institutions use the membership is very important to our members, so NCFDD provides an annual engagement report to the Primary Account Holder in month 10 of membership. The report provides demographic analysis, a summary of popular webinars, and program registration details. In addition, NCFDD creates a comparison group of other institutions within NCFDD's member list to provide context for information within this report.
