The Call for Proposals is Now Open!

You’re invited to submit a proposal for the 2023 Group on Diversity and Inclusion (GDI) and Group on Faculty Affairs (GFA) Joint Professional Development Conference. We are seeking proposals for breakout sessions and posters that expand on this year’s theme, “Bridging the Gap—Building for the Future,” and address critical topics, including:

  • Developing the next generation of leaders
  • Transforming the culture of academic medicine
  • Systematic inequities inside and outside of academic health centers
  • Supporting faculty and professional staff
  • Gender inequities in leadership
  • Advancing community engagement
  • Other critical and emerging issues about diversity and institutional advancement

Submitting a proposal gives you the opportunity to share knowledge about policies and promising practices, strengthen existing partnerships, and build your network among the two AAMC professional development groups.

The deadline to submit a proposal is November 29, 2022

Why Present?
Presenting at the GDI and GFA Joint Professional Development Conference is an important part of leadership and professional development and provides an opportunity to build your professional network and learn, reflect and engage with colleagues.

The Joint Planning Committee highly encourages collaborative proposals. We also encourage GFA and GDI representatives from the same institution to attend the conference together with the goal of leaving with practical, applicable strategies to apply in their own institution. Presenting a content-rich session, especially as a team, is a wonderful way to share knowledge, experiences, ideas, and information.
