New data snapshots from AAMC StandPoint™ Surveys
The AAMC has published two new data snapshots from StandPoint Surveys, a program focused on understanding the unique factors that drive faculty and staff engagement and retention at academic health institutions. Medical School Faculty Satisfaction with Compensation and Benefits explores data from across 35 U.S. medical schools to understand the types of additional benefits that faculty would like their institutions to offer. The key findings reveal that many faculty would prefer enhancements to current benefits, with financial compensation, medical coverage, and retirement contributions being the most cited responses. Perceptions of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion of LGB+ Faculty at U.S. Medical Schools examines how lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB+) faculty perceive their institution’s overall approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Overall, LGB+ faculty reported feeling less respected and having less favorable views of the institution’s DEI recruitment, retention, and culture efforts. Using this data to further evaluate how medical schools can support LGB+ faculty and advance equitable policies and practices at their institutions will contribute to overall institutional success. For more information on these data snapshots, contact Valerie Dandar (vdandar@aamc.org).
