Mission

Mission

The mission of the NNE CO-OP PCBRN is to convene, connect, and catalyze a community of primary care clinicians and other health professionals through a multi-state research network that provides peer learning, professional development, and the opportunity to conduct and disseminate real-world evidence-based primary care research.

Values

The Northern New England CO-OP Practice and Community Based Research Network (NNE CO-OP PCBRN) is committed to fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation within primary care research. Our network embraces the following core values, which guide our research endeavors and relationships:

We believe that effective research relies on strong collaboration among diverse stakeholders. We convene, connect, and catalyze partnerships among primary care clinicians and other health professionals, academic institutions, community organizations, and patients to promote shared leadership, knowledge exchange, and the co-creation of research.

We adhere to the highest ethical standards in all aspects of our research. We prioritize the protection of participants’ rights, privacy, and confidentiality. Our research activities are conducted with integrity, transparency, and accountability, maintaining the trust of our participants, partners, and the broader community.

We are dedicated to promoting health equity and eliminating health disparities in primary care. Our research actively addresses the determinants of health, considers the needs of under-resourced populations, and advocates for inclusive policies and practices. We strive to engage rural communities, ensuring that their voices are heard and their experiences shape the direction of our research.

We embrace a culture of lifelong learning, constantly seeking to improve the quality of care provided by primary care clinicians. We encourage curiosity, creativity, inquiry, and critical thinking, and support ongoing professional development, training, and mentorship opportunities. Our encouragement and support enhances clinical practice and brings joy into work. We value reflection and feedback, utilizing both to continuously refine our research methods and foster a culture of excellence.

We prioritize the needs and well-being of our members, placing them and their patients’ health outcomes and experiences at the forefront of our research efforts. We strive to understand and address members’ unique perspectives, values, and preferences, ensuring that our research focuses on issues important to them and the communities they serve.

Vision

Collaborating with clinical, academic, and community partners, the multi-state NNE CO-OP PCBRN develops and leads relevant, feasible, and novel research to advance primary care, improve patient outcomes, and contribute to the overall health and well-being of the individuals and rural communities we serve.
