Announcing New Executive Director

Hello CO-OP Members,

We are delighted to announce that Meagan Stabler, PhD, CHES, has accepted the role of Executive Director of the Northern New England CO-OP Practice & Community Based Research Network (NNE CO-OP PCBRN). In this position, Dr. Stabler will provide vision, strategy and oversight for the NNE CO-OP PCBRN working in collaboration with community health care practices and organizations, and our partner institutions, University of Vermont and MaineHealth.

Meagan Stabler
PhD, CHES

Dr. Stabler’s career has centered on serving rural communities and marginalized populations through applied public health research collaborations. Dr. Stabler came to Dartmouth as a TDI and R25 Postdoctoral Research Fellow and has since worked in the Department of Epidemiology. She led the Environmental Influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) Program for the New Hampshire Birth Cohort Study (NHBCS). She also served as a Senior Research Scientist and Research and Grant Program Director, where she managed three funded NIH R01 grant submissions, directed two randomized control trials with 32 medical centers nation-wide, and led the virtual learning collaboratives for the RCTs. She earned her PhD in Epidemiology at West Virginia University, where she served as a graduate research assistant for the NIH-funded Clinical Research Design, Epidemiology, and Biostatistics Program for the WV Clinical and Translational Science Institute. She then went on to serve as the Advanced Injury Epidemiologist for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Dr. Stabler’s research interests focus on the intersection of maternal and child health and injury prevention, with topics including prescription drug misuse and abuse and its outcomes, particularly neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome.

Dr. Stabler will be joining the NNE CO-OP PCBRN leadership team led by Maureen Boardman, MSN, FNP-C, FAANP, Neil Korsen, MD, MS, and Charlie MacLean, MD. She will work closely with colleagues and stakeholders across institutions and communities, including the CO-OP Advisory Board, PCBRN member practices, the University of Vermont and MaineHealth.
