Reza was born in Miandoab city, West Azerbaijan, Iran. Throughout his academic journey, Reza has been deeply passionate about cancer immunology. During his M.Sc., he conducted research on HER2 molecules, successfully producing polyclonal antibodies against various HER2 subdomains, mapping monoclonal antibodies, and studying their effects on breast cancer cells. His Ph.D. research built on this foundation by focusing on cancer-released HER2 carrying extracellular vesicles (EVs) and their impact on immune responses and therapeutic monoclonal antibodies.
Following his Ph.D., Reza spent nearly two years at the Cancer Research Center at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, where he gained invaluable clinical insights by working closely with cancer patients. His hands-on experience has been instrumental in furthering his understanding of cancer immunology.
Currently, as a postdoctoral fellow in Claudia Jakubzick’s lab at Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine, Reza is excited to continue his research on the role of natural antibodies (NAbs) and macrophages in shaping immune responses, aiming to make meaningful contributions to the fight against cancer and other diseases.
Outside of his scientific work, Reza enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife and daughter. He also loves watching movies and is a big football fan.
