Professional Interests: Dr. Rees graduated from Oxford University Medical School and completed a three-year general practice residency in the United Kingdom, followed by an MPH and PhD in Epidemiology at the University of California, Berkeley. Her work in disease surveillance began during the six years she spent with the CDC's California Emerging Infections Program, and continued with the New Hampshire Birth Conditions Program and the New Hampshire State Cancer Registry; she has been the Director of the latter since 2004. Dr. Rees' research interests include cancer epidemiology/prevention; multiple malignancies; sources of bias in randomized controlled trials including unblinding and related beliefs; and she works with the DarDarCan collaboration between the Norris Cotton Cancer Center and the Ocean Road Cancer Institute in Tanzania. Dr. Rees also directs the medical student's year 1 core course in Biostatistics and Epidemiology.
