Announcement – Emily Craig is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Epidemiology at Dartmouth. She earned her B.S. in Marine Science from the University of Maine and her Ph.D. in Environment from Duke University, where her research examined the effects of air pollution exposure on the placenta.
Emily is passionate about environmental epidemiology because she wants to help people have healthy, happy pregnancies even in the face of environmental hazards like air pollution. She chose Dartmouth for her postdoctoral training because of its strong environmental health program and its community of researchers dedicated to understanding how environmental exposures shape pregnancy and child health outcomes.
At Dartmouth, Emily works with the New Hampshire Birth Cohort Study, investigating how gestational exposure to indoor air pollution affects infant respiratory and allergic outcomes, with a focus on placental DNA methylation as a biological mechanism linking exposure to disease risk.
