Postdoctoral Position in the Whitfield Lab
Biomedical Data Science
A bioinformatics position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Michael Whitfield in the Department of Biomedical Data Science at the Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine in Lebanon, NH. The Whitfield Lab is focused on gene expression, genetic changes, systems biology, and biological networks in systemic autoimmune disease and fibrosis. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a recent PhD degree and proven record of independent research. Experience in bioinformatics, next generation sequencing analysis, and programming is required. Individuals with experience in genomics, statistics and/or computational biology are especially encouraged to apply.
Excellent computer skills, a strong publication record, and three letters of recommendation are necessary. Successful applicants will work with the PI to submit post-doc fellowship applications.
Dartmouth is in the rural Upper Valley of New Hampshire, located near the Connecticut River which separates New Hampshire and Vermont. It provides easy access to a variety of outdoor activities. Most notably, its proximity to the Appalachian Trail, the New England Seashore and major US East coast cities (Boston, 2 hours; New York City, 5 hours) make it ideal for outdoor and city lovers alike.
