Fellowship Announcement 2020-2021

We are pleased to announce a Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Swigart Ethics Fellowship will be awarded to a selected health care professional to undertake a year-long clinical ethics focused project.

 

The selected DHMC health care professional will conduct scholarly research regarding a specific clinical ethics issue to enhance patient care and ethics education. In addition, the Fellow may attend DHMC’s Clinical Ethics Committee, including participating in ethics consultations, and/or DHMC’s Organizational Ethics Committee meetings. The Fellow is expected to seek and participate in ethics education opportunities, both locally and beyond, to expand the Fellow’s knowledge and skills in applied health care ethics. The awardee will be expected to present their project at the end of the Fellowship year.

 

The Ethics Fellowship is sponsored by the Olive M. and Joseph F. Swigart Fund for Practical Education in Medical Ethics. The Ethics Fellowship is provided under the direction of James Stahl, MD, MPH Section Chief, General Internal Medicine, DHMC; Bill Nelson PhD, Director, Geisel Ethics and Human Values; and, Steve Ringer, MD, PhD, Section Chief, Neonatology, Chair, Clinical Ethics Committee, DHMC.
