I am an undergraduate student in the class of 2022 at Dartmouth College majoring in Biology and Anthropology modified with Global Health. I have researched translational immunology and microbiology with Dr. William Rigby's Laboratory since the spring of 2019. In the Fall of 2019, I studied the role of bactericidal permeability-increasing protein (BPI) on preventing inflammation in human whole blood from Gram-negative Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. I will now explore the role and effectiveness of neutrophil-mediated phagocytosis on bacterial strains of interest.
