Dr. Jonathan D. Jones, MD

Scientist

I completed my MD degree at the University of Utah in 2002. I then came to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center as a resident in internal medicine. After completing my residency in 2005, I worked for 4 years as a hospitalist in Boise, ID. I returned to DHMC in 2009 for a rheumatology fellowship. During this fellowship I worked in the Rigby lab. From 2011-12 I did a post-doc fellowship in the Rigby lab, and identified a unique process occurring to B cells in the presence of the monoclonal antibody rituximab. This process is termed trogocytosis. I continued to work in Dr. Rigby's lab since joining the rheumatology faculty at DHMC in 2012. My research focus is on better understanding the role of trogocytosis in treatment of autoimmune conditions, and in identifying rheumatoid arthritis subsets through differing antibody and chemokine profiles. In addition, I participate in several clinical trials in the rheumatology clinic.
