Andre Armero

MD PhD Student (G1)
MPUS Fellowship Co-Director
Skopelja-Gardner's Laboratory

I'm originally from Saint Petersburg, FL and, after receiving my bachelor's in science from Northeastern University, I'm now a third year in the combined MD-PhD program here at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. When I first started my undergraduate career, I had no idea that I would want to pursue medicine, I was sure I would only do research. I started working in a lab during my undergraduate years and realized how much I appreciated the capacity for my research work to be translational, and I knew from then on, that the human component of research could never be removed entirely for me. These experiences set me on my path to eventually lead me to the MD-PhD program here at Dartmouth where I now work in Dr. Sladjana Skopelja-Gardner's lab looking into the immunologic basis for cutaneous lupus erythematosus and potential therapies. In my free time I love reading, writing, exercising, playing video games, and trying new cafe's/ restaurants!
