Dr. Will Hasslett, PhD

Dr. William Haslett is a Research Scientist in the Biomedical Data Science department at Geisel Medical School. Dr. Haslett received his PhD in Health Services Research from the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, where he developed and evaluated a mobile software application for use by clients in the United States' public mental health system. Dr. Haslett's work involves developing and evaluating novel informatics tools, including patient-facing applications, for a range of healthcare contexts. He has a particular interest in tools that serve disadvantaged and underserved populations. Dr. Haslett is the software architect and chief developer for the HealthPAL application (PI Paul Barr), which helps patients manage their own care using audio recordings of clinical encounters. Dr. Haslett is also leading application development for a mobile application that helps people who suffer from anxiety and depression to manage their own health (PI Nicholas Jacobson). He is also developing a cross-platform mobile application framework in Google Flutter which will support rapid prototyping for data-intensive, research-oriented mobile applications.
Dr. Haslett enjoys musical composition, music production, and playing old classics with friends. He also enjoys cycling, learning gists of concepts on Wikipedia, and Nutella.
