Dr. Felix Kortmann, PhD, MSc

Dr. Felix Kortmann is a PostDoc Fellow at the Center for Technology and Behavioral Health (CTBH). Felix has a background in Systems Engineering and Information Systems and focuses on applying Artificial Intelligence tools for the 'Greater Good'. In his Ph.D., he utilizes front-facing cameras and onboard sensors in vehicles to detect road conditions for increasing driving safety and comfort. At CTBH, Felix is mentored by Dr. Nicholas Jacobson and works on Internet Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, carried out by smartphone applications. His goal is to use the selfie camera during the online therapy to detect the patient's attention level and emotions during treatment. Besides that, Felix is a guest researcher at the Leuphana University Lüneburg accompanying a research project for tracking infectious diseases.
