Areej Sayeed

Areej Sayeed is a current undergraduate junior from Shrewsbury, MA. She is majoring in Physiology and Neurobiology and minoring in Psychological Sciences at the University of Connecticut, Storrs. In the Jacobson Lab, Areej is assisting Damien Lekkas in understanding behavioral health quantitatively to help improve mental health disorders, specifically suicidal thoughts and actions. She has a personal passion about promoting and fostering mental health through the use of technology and data science, as seen in her extracurricular activities. At the UConn campus, Areej is involved in a mental health podcast and Medical Minds Matter, which promotes psychological and emotional well-being and growth, specifically for those in the healthcare fields. She also is involved in the UConn Public Research Interest Group and the STEM club. In her free time, Areej enjoys hiking, kayaking, and baking.
