The Academy supports a community of health professions educators, fostering growth through collaboration, mentorship, and educational scholarship through a tiered membership structure designed to engage educators at various career stages.
Membership types include Members, Associates, Fellows, Distinguished Educators, and Advisory Board Members.

A Community at Every Career Stage
Participation ranges from novice educators, including residents and students, to senior-level educators. Members contribute to the Academy by attending events, mentoring, and leading initiatives while benefiting from professional development, mentorship, and networking opportunities across the Geisel and Dartmouth Health community.

BECOMING A MEMBER
Two ways to qualify for Member or Associate status
|
Option 1
|
Option 2
Register and track your attendance through CMECloud. Once you have completed the required number of activities through the CMECloud system, the Academy will proactively contact you and invite you to become a Member or Associate.
|
Activities that count toward membership include:
Live in-person or virtual activities, enduring materials such as recordings of past events, and activities sponsored or co-sponsored by the Academy.

Participate in a minimum of four offerings before achieving Member status.
Member status continues for the duration of time at Geisel/Dartmouth Health if there is participation in at least one offering per year after achieving Member status. |
Attendance at educational events |
| Associate |
Complete a Foundational Skills Series in either Educator or Educator Scholar.
Associate status continues for the duration of time at Geisel/Dartmouth Health if there is participation in at least one offering per year after achieving Associate status. |
Attend and contribute to events |
| Fellow |
Contribute to one Academy-sponsored event and attend three additional events. |
Share expertise and contribute to the Academy community |
| Distinguished Educator |
Demonstrate mentoring of three or more educators in areas such as manuscript writing, conference submissions, teaching sessions, statistical analysis, or medical education scholarly work including IRB submissions and grants.

Commit to mentoring at least two Academy members who request support each year.
Distinguished Educator status continues for the duration of time at Geisel/Dartmouth Health if there is mentoring of two Academy members annually. |
Lead initiatives and provide mentorship |

Participate in quarterly Advisory Board meetings.
Offer guidance and leadership to support the Academy's mission and vision.
Advocate for the Academy by serving as a champion in your area of education and disseminating Academy opportunities.
Network with other leaders to build support and engagement for the Academy. |

FELLOW MEMBERSHIP
Share your expertise as an Academy teacher
Fellow membership is achieved by invitation to participate as a teacher in an Academy-sponsored or co-sponsored activity. Associates are prioritized for teaching invitations, while the Academy Co-Directors and Advisory Board may also invite educators from outside the Academy community based on demonstrated expertise in teaching teachers.

Advisory Board
Advisory Board membership is by invitation from the Academy Co-Directors. The goal is to include diverse and broad representation from across Geisel and Dartmouth Health, with preference given to individuals who have achieved Distinguished Educator membership.
