The Upper Valley Human Rights Clinic (UVHRC) is a collaboration between Dartmouth\u2019s Geisel School of Medicine Physicians for Human Rights, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and Good Neighbor Health Clinic. Our mission is to support the human rights and well-being of immigrants and asylum seekers in Northern New England.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our student-run clinic conducts <\/span>pro bono <\/span><\/i>forensic medical and psychological evaluations for asylum seekers. Our evaluators include family physicians and psychiatrists who have been trained to conduct forensic evaluations and who have experience working with populations affected by PTSD and domestic violence. The specific type of evaluation will be guided by shared decision making between the clinic staff and the client\u2019s legal counsel, and a final decision will be made based on clinic staff availability and client indications for a medical evaluation with psychiatric screening or a formal psychiatric evaluation. <\/span>Following the evaluation, we will provide an affidavit to assist in your client\u2019s legal proceedings.
