I've yet to puke out my guts, but there's a lot of time left in grad school for that to happen.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What is your favorite metabolite\/metabolic enzyme?<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: Biiiiig ADH fan\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">What made you want to go into immunology?<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: I became interested in immunology because I loved how complicated it was and how many questions there were left to answer. They trust their instincts, just like I do when exploring new ideas in the lab. But they\u2019re also careful and thorough, striking the perfect balance between creativity and precision, which are qualities I aim to embody in my research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\"><b><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: arial, sans-serif\">What is your favorite metabolite\/metabolic enzyme?: <\/span><\/b><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: arial, sans-serif\">Citrate, hands down. It\u2019s the overachiever of the TCA cycle and deserves more credit for keeping things running smoothly. Why bother turning into acetyl-CoA and getting tangled up in fatty acid synthesis? T cells fighting cancer need energy, not lipid droplets slowing them down!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\"><b><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: arial, sans-serif\">What made you want to go into immunology?: <\/span><\/b><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: arial, sans-serif\">I love how complex and dynamic the immune system is. Immune cells work together like an orchestra, crafting a melody that masterfully adapts to defeat each unique enemy.<span class=\"gmail-Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>As an immunologist, I believe it\u2019s essential to look beyond a single instrument and focus on the interplay between them, as the harmony creates the symphony of immune defense.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"gmail-p1\"><b><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: arial, sans-serif\">What do you like to do outside of lab?: <\/span><\/b>I enjoy getting creative in my downtime, whether it\u2019s making candles, painting, or trying needlepoint. I also love playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends in my cohort; it\u2019s a fun way to unwind and connect. When I\u2019m not crafting or rolling dice, I\u2019m watching <i>Survivor<\/i> with my roommate or exploring Boston to visit family, friends, and my boyfriend.
