Sukriti Beniwal, PhD

Sukriti Beniwal is an applied microeconomist with research interests in health, labor, and public economics. Most of her work uses large-scale administrative data and quasi-experimental methods to study how healthcare policies and organizational structures shape provider behavior, service availability, and patient outcomes. A central focus of her research is maternal health and health equity, including the role of non-physician providers and hospital organization models in shaping access to care. Her research has been published in both economics and interdisciplinary journals and has been recognized with competitive awards, like the Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy Fellowship. At The Dartmouth Institute, she is expanding this agenda to examine maternal health outcomes in the context of federal disability benefits, hospital structures, and the impact on low-income populations.
