Named for former Dartmouth Medical School dean Dr. Rolf Syvertsen DMS \u201923 and established by alumni in 1984, the program offers scholarships to six exceptional fourth-year medical students annually. Recipients of the program personify the values of academic accomplishment and scientific rigor, a passion for learning, and a love of medicine.<\/p>\n

It is these values that the Syvertsen Fellows and Scholars Program seeks to recognize and perpetuate at Geisel and that have become deeply embedded in the culture of the medical school. Scholars are nominated by a faculty committee, and a fellow is selected from among this group by the Syvertsen Memorial Committee, composed of fellow and scholar alumni. Awards to the Syvertsen fellows and scholars are funded by contributions to the Rolf C. Syvertsen Memorial Fund.<\/p>\n

Six members of the Class of 2026 at the Geisel School of Medicine were selected as the Rolf C. Syvertsen Scholars for the 2025-2026 academic year with one of the students, Diya Mathur, also honored as the Syvertsen Fellow.<\/p>\n
