Just Fellow<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Alex is from Cary, North Carolina, and is a rising junior at Dartmouth. He is an EE Just Fellow double majoring in Biology and AAAS and plans to pursue a Ph.D. after graduation. His interest in immunology grew from a broader interest in preventing viral diseases and virally induced cancers. His research focuses on phenotyping microglial cells and profiling their interactions with resident memory T cells in the brain. She is about to complete her fifth and final year as an undergraduate student at the University of Puerto Rico at Mayag\u00fcez in Industrial Microbiology and is interested in following her PhD student path after graduation. This summer she has the opportunity to do a Summer Internship through Dartmouth's ASURE program in Dr. Rosato's laboratory. Her work in the lab will be focused on Tissue Resident memory T cells in oncolytic viral therapy. Before starting graduate school, she worked in the laboratory of Dr. John Babich identifying affinity of radiolabeled drugs against prostate cancer antigens. The following summer, she interned in the Quantitative Biology Group at Eli Lilly assessing binding interactions of Alzheimer\u2019s associated proteins and potency of bispecific T cell engagers in cancer. Jordan started her graduate work at Dartmouth in 2018, where she initially studied the anti-tumor effects of a novel nuclear hormone receptor agonist in glioblastoma. In Dr. Rosato\u2019s laboratory, her project focuses on understanding the role of CD39 in T cell immunity to brain tumors. Jordan is president of the Dartmouth Biotechnology Club but has no clue what she plans to do after graduation. Matthew spent some time during his undergrad working in Dr. Xianping Dong\u2019s lab, where they studied the role of lysosomal ion channels in lysosomal storage diseases. Apart from his important laboratory roles as a research assistant in Dr. Rosato\u2019s lab, one of Matthew\u2019s most substantial tasks is to educate his fellow lab members about their friendly neighbours to the north. They graduated from St. Lawrence University in 2024, earning their B.S. in Biomedical Science with a minor in Philosophy. During their time at St. Lawrence University, they worked in Dr. Alexander Schreiber's comparative endocrinology lab, observing the synergistic effects of glucocorticoids and thyroid hormone on\u00a0<i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">Xenopus laevis\u00a0<\/i>metamorphosis. Myana became interested in pursuing research in immunology after having read\u00a0<i data-stringify-type=\"italic\">And the Band Played On<\/i>\u00a0in high school, and in college, their interests were further confirmed after taking their first immunology class. They are particularly curious about adaptive immune cell signaling\/trafficking and are currently working on a project in Dr. Rosato's lab assessing the potential therapeutic role that cancer-nonspecific CD8+ T cells residing within the melanoma tumor microenvironment play in ameliorating cancer outcomes. Davy Honors College at Hampton University, in Hampton Virginia where he received his B.S. in Biology. Prior to working in this lab, he did some microbiology, genomic and oncological research and he intends to later become a physician-scientist. She is a biology major on the pre-med\/pre-PhD path. Her interest in immunology started with an internship at Sutro Biopharma, an immuno-oncology startup in South San Francisco. Her work in the laboratory is focused on phenotyping viral T cells localized to brain tumors. During that time, I worked in the lab of Dr. Jonathan Boyson, primarily studying the role of SLAM receptors in gdT cell development and function. It was there that I became immersed in the world of immunology. Following graduation, I continued my research in the Boyson lab as a technician, where I branched into working with NKT cells and ILCs. I later entered the Molecular and Cellular Biology program at Dartmouth in 2019, where I then joined the Rosato lab. My interests lie in unpacking the tissue resident memory T cell response network within the brain and associated tumors. When I\u2019m not in lab, I enjoy hiking and playing frisbee with friends. When there\u2019s snow on the ground, there\u2019s a very good chance you\u2019ll find me skiing.<\/p>\n<p>Shawn defended his thesis in 2024 and spent 6 months in the lab as a postdoc.
