Swigart Ethics Fellowship (Mentor: James B. Yu MD).\u00a0 Swigart fellows conduct research regarding a specific ethics issue to enhance patient care or ethics education.\u00a0 Ms. Ryu will conduct research in partnership with DROAS evaluating the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of patients who receive immunooncology treatment and brain radiosurgery for brain metastases.\u00a0 She will evaluate whether survival benefits from these cutting edge therapies are equitably distributed, as well as perform a narrative review of potential ethical and practical steps health systems and clinicians can take to reduce inequities in care for patients with metastatic brain disease.
