☄️ Key Findings on Skull Base Chordomas at ASTRO 2025

Myrsini Ioakeim-Ioannidou, MD, Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital, presented important new findings at the 2025 American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Annual Meeting.

Her talk, “Long-term Failure Patterns and Prognostic Factors in a Randomized Dose-Escalation Trial for Skull Base Chordomas: A Secondary Analysis from PROG 85-26,” provided valuable insights into long-term treatment outcomes for patients with these rare and challenging tumors.

Using data from one of the largest randomized trials of its kind, Dr. Ioakeim-Ioannidou’s analysis identified key prognostic factors and patterns of disease recurrence, helping to guide future approaches to radiation dose escalation and treatment planning for skull base chordomas.
