Bruza Lab’s Work Selected as Medical Physics Editor’s Choice

Congratulations to Shiru Wang, and Yao Chen, whose recent publication was selected as an Editor’s Choice article in Medical Physics.

Their paper, “Robust real-time segmentation of bio-morphological features in human Cherenkov imaging during radiotherapy via deep learning" highlights innovative work advancing the use of artificial intelligence to improve imaging during radiation therapy. This research demonstrates the potential of deep learning to achieve accurate, real-time segmentation of biological features captured through Cherenkov imaging—a technique that visualizes light produced by radiation interactions in tissue.

Being chosen as an Editor’s Choice reflects the significance and impact of this contribution to the field of medical physics and its potential to inform future clinical applications in image-guided radiotherapy.
