{"id":187,"date":"2025-10-24T13:21:10","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T13:21:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geiselmed2.dartmouth.edu\/registrar\/?page_id=187"},"modified":"2025-12-17T15:58:13","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T15:58:13","slug":"how-to-register","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/registrar\/how-to-register\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Register"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"pageheading\">Registering for Electives and Sub-Internships in Phase 2 and Phase 3<\/p>\n<p><b>Geisel School of Medicine Established Electives and Sub-Internships<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>These are requested through\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/geisel-oasis.dartmouth.edu\/index.html\">OASIS<\/a>\u00a0(Online Access to Student Information and Scheduling)<\/li>\n<li>For questions regarding accessing OASIS, please contact the Geisel Registrar's Office<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Geisel School of Medicine Non-Established Electives and Sub-Internships<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete the Geisel School of Medicine\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/registrar\/elective_application\/\">Non-Established Elective \/ Sub-I Application<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Away Electives and Sub-Internships (including those approved via VSLO)<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete the required paperwork for the away site<\/li>\n<li>Once accepted by the away site, complete the Geisel School of Medicine\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/registrar\/elective_application\/\">Non-Established Elective \/ Sub-I Application<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Read\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/registrar\/important-information-and-issues-regarding-the-away-rotation\/\">Important Information and Issues Regarding the \u201cAway\u201d Rotation<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>International Electives and Sub-Internships<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete the requirements for the away site\u00a0and register your travel with the Provost following the information linked in <a href=\"https:\/\/global.dartmouth.edu\/faqs-travel-registry-and-travel-exception\">FAQs for ViaTRM Travel Registration<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Once accepted by the away site, complete the Geisel School of Medicine<a href=\"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/registrar\/elective_application\/\">\u00a0Non-Established Elective \/ Sub-I Application<\/a>. The Geisel Registrar\u2019s Office will contact the student with additional requirements that must be completed for an international rotation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>VSLO (Visiting Student Learning Opportunities)<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Invitations issued to M3 students in December<\/li>\n<li>Instructions from VSLO will follow<\/li>\n<li>Once approved for a rotation, complete the Geisel School of Medicine\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/registrar\/elective_application\/\">Non-Established Elective \/ Sub-I Application<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students are expected to request these courses\u00a0<b>at least 4 weeks prior to the start date<\/b>, with approval and registration completed on OASIS before the start date.
