QBS 271: Advanced Epidemiology Journal Club: Microbiome

Course Director: Anne Hoen

  • Course description: The human-associated microbiota is a critical determinant of health and disease. In this journal club, students will select recent and high-impact peer-reviewed journal articles for discussion. Articles may focus on any aspect of the link between the human microbiome and health and can include epidemiological studies and methodological research. Students will take turns selecting articles and will be responsible for leading an in-class discussion on the articles they select. In addition, students will submit a written commentary on each week’s featured article.  This journal club welcomes advanced doctoral students who are studying the human microbiome or who are considering incorporating aspects of human microbiome research in their thesis. Students will be encouraged to choose papers relevant to their research topic.
