All QBS PhD students receive a Dartmouth fellowship that provides a full tuition scholarship, paid health insurance plan, and student stipend for each year they are in the program.
The student stipend for 2023-2024 is $40,000 annually. For student who have passed their qualifying exam, the stipend is $40,500 annually.
The Guarini School provides a Childcare Subsidy for stipend-supported PhD students of $3,000/year per eligible child under 6 years-old, capped at three children and relocation assistance of $1,500 for stipend-supported PhD students.
Stipends for future years will be set as part of the annual budgeting process. Stipends are contingent upon satisfactory performance in studies. QBS does not offer financial aid beyond the fellowship.
New PhD students should plan to have sufficient funds for travel and living expenses until their first stipend check is issued on October 1.
