The materials shared on this page are meant to serve as a starting point for faculty, staff and trainees interested in research or embarking on their own projects. The information provided will help you navigate the administrative processes involved with conducting research at Dartmouth Health. If you have questions, the <a href=\"#navigator\">Department of Pediatrics Research Navigator<\/a> is available to help.<\/p>\n<h2>CITI Training Guidance<\/h2>\n<p>All investigators and study personnel doing research at DH are required to complete Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) training. The 5 types of protocol templates are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>HRP-503 \u2013 Template protocol template<\/li>\n<li>HRP-503b \u2013 Template used for\u00a0<strong>Not Research \u2013 Not Research with Human Participants<\/strong>\u00a0studies including Quality Improvement projects<\/li>\n<li>HRP-503c \u2013 Template used for\u00a0<strong>Data Review<\/strong>\u00a0studies, such as cohort or chart reviews<\/li>\n<li>HRP-503d \u2013 Template used for\u00a0<strong>Database, Registry, or Repository<\/strong>\u00a0studies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Download the \u2018HRP-215 Departmental &amp; Scientific Review\u2019 form, which can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dartmouth-health.org\/research\/eirb-system\">eIRB website under the <em>Library<\/em> tab<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/pediatrics\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/48\/2025\/04\/Additional-Scientific-Review-Form-.pdf\">Additional Scientific Review Form<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Send the completed forms and your protocol template to <a href=\"mailto:Eleni.A.Panagoulis@hitchcock.org\"><strong>Eleni Panagoulis<\/strong><\/a>.<br \/>\nEleni will work with the appropriate Department faculty to review your protocol and sign the Departmental and Scientific Review form. Eleni will send you a signed form once the review is complete.<\/li>\n<li>Upload all study materials, including the protocol and HRP-215 Departmental &amp; Scientific Review form, and any additional materials to the eIRB. Once completed, you can submit the study and \u2018Push to OnCore.\u2019 OnCore is the research management platform that Dartmouth Health uses to manage studies.<\/li>\n<li>The IRB analysts and the OnCore staff may ask for clarifications or request edits to your study materials. Additional reviews by the Office of Research Operations may be requested.<\/li>\n<li>Once your study is active in OnCore and approved by the IRB, you can begin your study.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Research Guidance<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Please <a href=\"https:\/\/synergy.dartmouth.edu\/data-management-and-security\/\">visit the Dartmouth SYNERGY website<\/a> to review:\n<ul>\n<li>The Research Data Handbook.<\/li>\n<li>The Research Data Request Form, which is required when conducting a chart review or requesting data from a DH Honest Data Broker.<\/li>\n<li>The Informatics Consultation Request Form if you have questions about DH data, data storage, or data governance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Please visit the Analytics Institute website to learn more about their services.<\/li>\n<li>Please <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dartmouth-hitchcock.org\/research\/clinical-trials-office\">visit the Clinical Trials Office<\/a> to learn more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>External Grant Guidance<\/h2>\n<p>Please complete this <a href=\"https:\/\/app.smartsheet.com\/b\/form\/df640efee8b64dd0bc722d5b3a3e88f5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Research Administration Request Form<\/a> for assistance with a grant submission, post-award questions, DUAs, etc.<\/p>\n<h2>Internal Funding Guidance<\/h2>\n<p>The Hearst Fund monies are to be used to provide support for DHMC perinatal outreach education and research.
