The application period for the Early Career Women Faculty Leadership Development Seminar will open in early-February. This year’s seminar will take place at the Hyatt Regency Boston, July 18-21, 2023. The seminar’s curriculum will provide a foundation for modeling leadership behavior and will focus on critical skills and strategies to assist you as you prepare for academic advancement or promotion. Due to the content focus, applicants’ CVs must include or highlight activities demonstrating progress towards academic promotion and engagement in leadership roles.

Application Period
The application period will remain open for no less than two weeks and will close once applications exceed program capacity. Once closed, the AAMC will review applications to ensure all applicants meet the criteria for the target audience and the cohort consists of participants with a broad array of specialties and areas of focus in academic medicine, including both clinicians and basic science researchers who represent a variety of institutions from all regions of the country.

Application Criteria and Requirements
As with last year’s application submission process, a letter of support will not be required as part of the application. However, a current curriculum vitae must still be submitted. As stated above, due to high demand, we are unable to accept registrants outside of the program’s target audience - women physicians and scientists with an appointment at an AAMC member school of medicine, with a minimum of two years of experience (July 2021) as an Assistant Professor.

As with previous application cycles, more than one applicant from an institution may apply; however, per the criteria described above, we will accept a limited number of applicants from each institution.

We strongly encourage you to consult with your Division Chief, Department Chair, or Dean about attending this program to ensure you have time and support to attend the entire seminar.
