disease in <em>Microbiology &amp; Molecular Biology Reviews <\/em>\u00a0entitled:\u00a0\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/doi-org.dartmouth.idm.oclc.org\/10.1128\/mmbr.00011-23\">Recent developments in <em>Aspergillus fumigatus <\/em>research: diversity, drugs, and disease<\/a>.\u201d Thanks for including our thoughts on host immunity to <em>Aspergillus <\/em>in this exciting review.<\/p>\n<p><strong>March 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CONGRATULATION to Lina Abdullah, a<a href=\"https:\/\/graduate.dartmouth.edu\/mcb\/\">\u00a0MCB<\/a>\u00a0graduate student, in The Huang Lab (Dartmouth College) on her <em>Immunity <\/em>paper entitled:\u00a0\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/doi-org.dartmouth.idm.oclc.org\/10.1016\/j.immuni.2025.02.001\">The endogenous antigen-specific CD8+ T cell repertoire is composed of unbiased and biased clonotypes with differential fate commitments<\/a>.\u201d Thanks for including our thoughts in this collaboration and bringing us back to CD8 T cells!<\/p>\n<p><strong>February 2025<\/strong><br \/>\nJosh was promoted to Professor with tenure within the Department of Microbiology &amp; Immunology at The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth!<\/p>\n<p><strong>January 2025<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Obar Lab represents at the Keystone Symposia on RNA Mediated Regulation of Immunity by Francois LeSage who presented a poster on their work in the lab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>January 2025<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Obar Lab represents at the Gordon Research Seminar on Immunology of Fungal Infections by Abigail McGee who presented a poster and talk on her work in the lab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>December 2024<\/strong><br \/>\nJosh was appointed as an Academic Editor at <em>PLOS Pathogens<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>September 2024<\/strong><br \/>\nJosh was invited to participate in the NIH Cytokine Interest Group Mini-Symposium focus on Fungal Infections in Bethesda, Maryland.\u00a0 His talk was entitled: \u201cResponding to the threat of <em>Aspergillus fumigatus<\/em>: The Roles of IL-1\u03b1 and Interferons in Maintaining Host Resistance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>July 2024<\/strong><br \/>\nJosh was appointed as a Section Editor of <em>The Journal of Immunology<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>April 2024<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Obar Lab represents at the <em>Immunology 2024 <\/em>meeting by Alex Rapp and Madeleine Grau who both were selected to give short talks on their work in the lab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>February 2024<\/strong><br \/>\nJosh was invited to speak at the <em>10<sup>th<\/sup> Global Network Forum on Infection &amp; Immunity <\/em>held by Chiba University in Japan. His presentation was entitled: \u201cGoing non-viral or not: Regulation of the antifungal interferon response\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>February 2024<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Obar Lab was represented at the Keystone Symposia entitled <em>Fungal Pathogens: Emerging Threats and Future Challenge<\/em> by Alex Rapp who was selected to give short talk on his work in the lab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>September 2023<\/strong><br \/>\nJosh\u2019s NIH R01 entitled \u201cFungal spore sensing by MDA5 is necessary for antifungal immunity against <em>Aspergillus fumigatus\u201d<\/em> was renewed for 5 additional years of funding!<\/p>\n<p><strong>September 2023<\/strong><br \/>\nJosh was invited to speak at Department of Microbiology &amp; Immunology at Tulane University.<\/p>\n<p><strong>July 2023<\/strong><br \/>\nJosh was invited to speak at the FASEB Summer Research Conference entitled <em>The Microbial Pathogenesis Conference: Mechanisms of Infectious Disease <\/em>held in Southbridge, Massachusetts. His presentation was entitled: \u201cGoing non-viral or not: Regulation of the antifungal interferon response\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><strong>June 2023<\/strong><br \/>\nJosh was appointed as a Standing Study Section Member on <em>Immunity &amp; Host Defense <\/em>at the NIH.<\/p>\n<p><strong>May 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CONGRATULATION to Kelly Shepardson, UC-Merced, and Josh published in a <em>PLOS Pearl <\/em>article in <em>PLOS Pathogens<\/em>\u00a0 entitled:\u00a0\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/doi-org.dartmouth.idm.oclc.org\/10.1371\/journal.ppat.1011334\">Coinfections in the lung: How viral infection creates a favorable environment for bacterial and fungal infections<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>May 2023 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Josh was invited to speak at <em>Immunology 2023<\/em> in Washington DC. His presentation was entitled: \u201cAlveolar Macrophage: Controllers of the antifungal interferon response\u201d.\u00a0 \u00a0Additionally, Alex Rapp gave a short talk on his work in the lab at the <em>Immunology 2023 <\/em>meeting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>April 2023<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Obar Lab was represented at the Keystone Symposia entitled <em>Inflammation in the Lung: Friend or Foe in Viral Infection<\/em> by Madeleine Grau who presented a poster on her work in the lab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>January 2023<\/strong><br \/>\nJosh was invited to speak at the <em>Immunology of Fungal Infections <\/em>Gordon Research Conference in Galveston, Texas. His presentation was entitled: \u201cHost-Pathogen Determinants in Influenza-Associated Invasive Aspergillosis\u201d. While both Alex Rapp and Madeleine Grau presented posters on their work in the lab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>December 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CONGRATULATIONS to Ko-Wei, a<a href=\"https:\/\/graduate.dartmouth.edu\/mcb\/\">\u00a0MCB<\/a>\u00a0graduate student, had his manuscript published in\u00a0<em>mBio<\/em>\u00a0entitled:\u00a0\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/doi-org.dartmouth.idm.oclc.org\/10.1128\/mbio.02854-22\">Postinflueza Environment Reduces <em>Aspergillus fumigatus <\/em>Conidium Clearance and Facilitates Invasive Aspergillosis <em>In vivo<\/em>.<\/a>\u201d Ko-Wei was a member of The Cramer Laboratory here at Dartmouth wo work jointly on this project with The Obar Lab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>November 2022<\/strong><br \/>\nJosh was invited to speak at Department of Biological Sciences at Clemson University.<\/p>\n<p><strong>September 2022<\/strong><br \/>\nJosh was invited to speak at the 21<sup>st<\/sup> Congress of the International Society for Human and Animal Mycology (ISAHM) in New Dehli, India.
