{"id":107,"date":"2020-11-09T10:49:21","date_gmt":"2020-11-09T15:49:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/nhinbre\/?page_id=107"},"modified":"2024-06-06T09:03:38","modified_gmt":"2024-06-06T13:03:38","slug":"acknowledge-nh-inbre","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/nhinbre\/research-projects\/faculty-admin\/faculty\/acknowledge-nh-inbre\/","title":{"rendered":"Acknowledge NH-INBRE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">How to Acknowledge NH-INBRE in your Publications and Presentations<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is tremendous pressure on NIH budget and IDeA must fight to protect its funding; the best tool is demonstration of productivity.\u00a0 Papers have the most value to IDeA when they specifically acknowledge NH-INBRE by grant number as noted in our website.\u00a0 We think that acknowledging NH-INBRE is very easy and costs the authors nothing to do, and is exceptionally valuable for NH-INBRE and IDeA.<\/p>\n<p>The following criteria should be used to determine if NH-INBRE should be acknowledged in your publications, presentations, posters, press releases etc.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work directly funded by NH-INBRE as a project.<\/li>\n<li>Work received supplies through RSTG support or equipment exchange.<\/li>\n<li>Work utilized RSTG funded students.<\/li>\n<li>Work utilized equipment that was provided by NH-INBRE through direct funding, RSTG funding or equipment exchange.<\/li>\n<li>Work utilized space whose renovation was supported by NH-INBRE.<\/li>\n<li>Work utilized access to Dartmouth Library provided by NH-INBRE for journal article access.<\/li>\n<li>Work utilized shared resources at Dartmouth, or UNH or bioinformatics at UNH.<\/li>\n<li>Work utilized students who received laboratory safety training through the Dartmouth EH+S training system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Please include this acknowledgement on NH-INBRE supported work, <strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\"><span style=\"color: #003300\">\u201cResearch supported by New Hampshire- INBRE through an Institutional Development Award (IDeA), P20GM103506, from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences of the NIH\u201d<\/span>.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 Inclusion of the grant number is extremely important because the grant number is what will be searched on for administrative purposes.For presentations, download the NH-INBRE logo and IDeA logo on this page and include these on your poster or electronic presentation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/nhinbre\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/57\/2024\/06\/New-logo.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Download NH-INBRE Logo<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Compliance with NIH Public Access Policy<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">The NIH public access policy requires scientists to submit final peer-reviewed journal manuscripts that arise from NIH funds to PubMed Central immediately upon acceptance for publication.\u00a0A valid PMCID# reflects successful submission to PubMed Central.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">How to Submit Journal Articles to PubMed Central<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">The NIH Public Access website provides instructions to assist in submitting publications to PubMed Central and complying with the policy: <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/publicaccess.nih.gov\/\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">http:\/\/publicaccess.nih.gov\/.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">There are various ways for authors to ensure the paper is submitted to PMC: <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/publicaccess.nih.gov\/submit_process.htm\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">http:\/\/publicaccess.nih.gov\/submit_process.htm.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\"> The method of submittal is dependent on the journal that is publishing the article. Some journals submit automatically to PMC and some don\u2019t. The NIH publishes a list of the status of various journals. If the journal is listed here: <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/publicaccess.nih.gov\/submit_process_journals.htm?jtitle=A\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">http:\/\/publicaccess.nih.gov\/submit_process_journals.htm?jtitle=A<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\"> then the PMCID happens without any other author involvement. If the journal doesn\u2019t automatically submit to PMC, some journals may submit to PMC <em><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">if<\/span><\/em> the author acknowledges NIH grant support in their article.
