{"id":7951,"date":"2017-02-21T16:15:17","date_gmt":"2017-02-21T21:15:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/news\/?p=7951"},"modified":"2017-03-20T11:30:07","modified_gmt":"2017-03-20T15:30:07","slug":"association-of-university-radiologists-honors-three-geisel-faculty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/news\/2017\/association-of-university-radiologists-honors-three-geisel-faculty\/","title":{"rendered":"Association of University Radiologists Honors Three Geisel Faculty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three Geisel School of Medicine faculty\u2014Jocelyn Chertoff, MD, Petra Lewis, MBBS, and Nancy McNulty, MD (MED\u201995)\u2014collectively received four awards from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aur.org\" target=\"_blank\">Association of University Radiologists<\/a> (AUR) for their contributions to the field of radiology. The three honorees are also radiologists at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dartmouth-hitchcock.org\" target=\"_blank\">Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a rare honor to chair a department that can claim four significant awards in a single year,\u201d says Chertoff, who received the Gold Medal, the organization\u2019s highest honor, in recognition of her distinguished service or contributions to the AUR, academic radiology, or the field of radiology. \u201cI feel very lucky to have such dedicated friends and colleagues in our department and in these organizations. They have been and continue to be an inspiration to me.\u201d Chertoff is a past president of AUR.<\/p>\n<p>Both Chertoff and Lewis received an Achievement Award\u2014Lewis for Education and Chertoff for Service. Given annually by the <a href=\"https:\/\/apdr.org\" target=\"_blank\">Association of Program Directors in Radiology<\/a> (APDR), an affiliate of AUR, the award recognizes significant contributions to the advancement of education in radiology.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am thrilled that the APDR feels my contributions to the education of radiology residents and faculty should be recognized in this way,\u201d says Lewis, a professor of radiology and of obstetrics and gynecology at Geisel, is a member of the medical school\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/geiselmed.dartmouth.edu\/afme\/\" target=\"_blank\">Academy of Faculty Master Educators<\/a>. \u201cMuch of my career has been focused on conceiving and developing educational materials that can be used nationally by both learners and teachers, as well as directly teaching learners of all levels including faculty.\u00a0 This award validates the time and effort spent on these endeavors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt would not have been possible without the support and mentorship of my present and past chairs, as well many colleagues.
