\"Students<\/p>\n

Geisel School of Medicine\u2019s annual Medical Student Research Poster Night, held on October 22 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, highlighted the outstanding research efforts of the medical school\u2019s second-year MD students\u2014who shared their findings with faculty, staff, and peers in an engaging evening of scholarship and collaboration.<\/p>\n

This year, a total of 82 posters were on display (including some from third- and fourth-year medical students) representing: clinical research, foundational science, medical education science, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), and community health science.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis event reflects our commitment to supporting students\u2019 growth as future physicians, researchers, and scientists, and celebrates our dedication to academic and research excellence as well as exemplary representation of the Geisel community,\u201d says Han Naung Tun, MBBS, MPH, a program specialist with Geisel\u2019s Office of Medical Student Research, which organized the event.<\/p>\n

Commenting on his participation in the research poster night, Achilles Gatsonis, a second-year MD-PhD student at Geisel, says, \u201cI think research is a critical facet of medical education. That\u2019s where a lot of innovation and development of new methods comes from. And it\u2019s also a really great way to engage with the community. At Geisel, we\u2019re fortunate to have a lot of different avenues to explore in research as we strive to improve human health.\u201d<\/p>\n

As part of the evening\u2019s activities, the following second-year medical students were recognized as \u201cOutstanding Poster Award\u201d winners in their respective research sections:<\/p>\n
