In his annual State of the Medical School address, Dean Duane Compton, PhD, delivered an overview of the Geisel School of Medicine\u2019s achievements over the past year. Dean Compton expressed his excitement at the collective accomplishments within the school\u2019s mission areas.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery year I'm really amazed and surprised about how much we all collectively accomplish,\u201d said Compton. \u201cI am specifically using the word \u2018we\u2019 because you all have done a lot this year and have a lot to be proud about.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reflecting on his decade-long tenure as dean of the medical school, Compton highlighted the school's achievements and expressed gratitude to the community. He conveyed optimism for the incoming dean and the future of the Geisel School of Medicine.<\/p>\n

\u201cServing in this role gave me a vantage point into everything that we were doing in the school,\" said Compton. \u201cBut you get to see what's going on both for individuals and for teams and for departments in our centers and institutes; you get to see the impact of that. And you know, this school achieves so much way above our scale and way above our size.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd so, I'll just conclude by basically thanking each one of you for what you've done. Each one of you has done something to help this school and help this school improve. I'm here in gratitude, and I want to thank you for that.\u201d<\/p>\n

2025 Research Excellence Awards<\/h2>\n

The Geisel Research Excellence Awards <\/strong>celebrate the outstanding scientific contributions and advancements within our community. Nominations were submitted by the Geisel community and reviewed by the Research Excellence Award Committee. The honorees were selected for their outstanding scholarly contributions in one of two categories:<\/p>\n
