The Match\u00ae, one of the most anticipated, emotional, and celebrated days in medical education, is annually the day when thousands of fourth-year medical students across the U.S. simultaneously learn where they will spend their residency training.<\/p>\n

In his opening remarks for this year\u2019s Match Day on Friday, March 21, Geisel School of Medicine Dean Duane A. Compton, PhD, welcomed everyone and expressed his delight in seeing those who unwaveringly supported the medical students on their journey, his gratitude for the dedicated faculty, staff, and alumni who helped the future physicians reach this important goal, and the medical school community\u2019s pride in sharing this moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn behalf of everyone at Geisel, we are incredibly grateful that each of you chose to commit yourselves to our small community,\u201d Compton said. \u201cI am humbled by your dedication to improve the lives of others through a career that will take you far beyond the borders of our small town. I thank you for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
