Congratulations to Nicole J. Borges, PhD, chair of medical education and the Edward Tulloh Krumm Professor of Medical Education, who received the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Group on Educational Affairs (GEA) Merrell Flair Award in Medical Education\u2014GEA\u2019s highest recognition.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The award honors an individual whose contribution to the field of medical education reflects a strong, positive effect on the educational mission, administrative process, or public image of the GEA and its membership.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Borges was selected for her commitment and service to the GEA, along with her contributions to medical education research, scholarship, and the medical education community.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

She has worked in medical education for more than 25 years with a progressive administrative career at medical schools and academic health centers and has contributed widely and significantly to the advancement of medical education research and scholarship and its recognition as a discipline. In addition to her administrative roles, she is an active medical educator with an extensive publication and scholarly record.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Borges has led at the GEA regional and national level continuously since 2011. She is noted for her contributions to faculty development and is a mentor to many in medical education.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
