Photo by Katie Lenhart<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In his new role, Westling, an Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Clinical Practice, will lead and oversee the diverse portfolio of health professions degree and non-degree granting programs at Geisel. This includes program development, implementation, curricular oversight, and innovation. Westling will also provide leadership and guidance for the MPH and MS programs at Geisel, ensuring that educational programs prepare students for the evolving challenges of healthcare delivery, research, and practice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr. Westling brings his extensive experience and unwavering dedication to advancing Geisel's vision of improving systems of care and setting the standard for collaborative education of public health experts, scientists, and physicians within our complex healthcare ecosystem.\u201d said Chimienti. \u00a0\u201cHis leadership will be instrumental in diversifying, expanding, and enhancing health sciences educational offerings, as well as guiding the development of new programs aligned with Geisel's mission and strengths.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Westling previously served as the Executive Director of Education at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy &amp; Clinical Practice (TDI) at Geisel, where he oversaw all graduate degree and professional education programs and proved his expertise in curriculum development and directing professional education.<\/p>\n<p>Westling's teaching encompasses courses on health policy and ethics. His research focuses on ethical conflicts arising from evolving reimbursement and clinical care models. He has held key positions such as managing director of professional education and outreach, and managing director of accountable care, showcasing his diverse skills in translating research into practical tools and facilitating ACO pilot site implementations.<\/p>\n<p>Actively engaged in community health, Westling serves on the board of directors for the Good Neighbor Health Clinic in White River Junction, VT. He also advises medical groups and startup companies in the digital health field.<\/p>\n<p>Westling earned his DrPH in health leadership from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Master of Public Health degree from Dartmouth, a Master\u2019s in Health Administration from New England College, and a BA from Middlebury College.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Craig Westling, DrPH, MPH, MS, has been appointed the inaugural Associate Dean for Health Sciences Education at Geisel.
