Duane Compton, PhD, Dean of Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine, has named Andrew Rose, MBA, as the school’s new Senior Associate Dean for Administration and Finance. The promotion is effective immediately.
In his new role, Rose will oversee all administrative and operating requirements for the medical school. He will be responsible for ensuring appropriate resource allocation and operating efficiencies across Geisel’s research, education and community engagement missions, and for ensuring the operating environment supports evolving priorities and strategic plans for the school. Rose’s responsibilities will include the development and implementation of policies, procedures, systems and budgets, and he will be the primary administrative partner and liaison for Geisel to Dartmouth Health and other Geisel affiliates and Dartmouth College.
“Andy brings a wealth of experience and understanding of our programs and their financial operations,” said Compton. “He has also been instrumental in advancing several of our strategic initiatives including leading the planning and launch of multiple new educational programs.
Rose joined Geisel in 2016 as the Director of Finance. In 2023, he was promoted to the role of Chief Financial Officer for the school. Prior to joining Dartmouth, Rose was a consultant focusing his work primarily in academic healthcare. Andrew began his career at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Rose holds a bachelor’s degree in health management and policy from the University of New Hampshire and a Master of Business Administration from Boston University.
