Read article - A column co-authored by Paul Holtzheimer, associate professor of psychiatry, remembering the life of former Geisel professor Alan Green, who died in November 2020. Green served as the chair of the Department of Psychiatry for 18 years, was a professor of pharmacology and molecular and systems biology, served as the associate dean for clinical and translational science, and was the director of the NIH-funded Dartmouth Clinical and Translational Science Institute. "These impressive academic, administrative and research accomplishments do not fully capture the essence of Alan. He was upbeat, curious, energetic, warm, caring of others and always available. He maintained this optimism, this empathy for others in pain in spite of a life marked by serious and persistent health challenges. He will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune to know him," said Holtzheimer and his co-authors.

⭐ Hybrid MPH Student Practicum Highlight:
Congratulations to Nicole Rapfogel, MPH ’24, a Master of Public Health student at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine, has been selected as a Finalist for the Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) program. She is the only candidate at Dartmouth to receive this recognition for 2024 👏
Last week, the hybrid MPH students returned to campus for their third and final in-person week of the year. These weeks are all about reconnecting with the MPH community, from presenting ILE Practicum experiences, a celebratory dinner for the class of 2024, and soaking up everything Dartmouth’s hybrid MPH program offers. These in-person weeks never fail to put a smile on our faces!
Time’s ticking! ⏳
Congratulations to health economist Carrie Colla, PhD, highly respected for her research examining health system performance and the effectiveness of payment and delivery system reforms, for being named the Susan J. and Richard M. Levy 1960 Distinguished Professor in Health Care Delivery.
