Are you trying to become an independently funded Principal Investigator? This program is designed to meet the career development needs of researchers seeking to advance their basic understanding of core competencies in clinical and translational research. The goal of the program is to coach investigators in the development of their own research project plan.
Applicants must be actively planning on developing a protocol for IRB approval, or a proposal that can be submitted for grant funding. Applicants must be faculty and employees of Dartmouth, Dartmouth-Hitchcock or VA (MD, DO, PhD, DNP, or equivalent) who are nominated by their Department Chairs. Program Details
SYNERGY’s Advanced Certificate in Clinical and Translational Research is designed to meet the career development needs of researchers seeking to advance their basic understanding of core competencies in clinical and translational research. The program is centered on helping students convert original research ideas into IRB-approved protocols that can be submitted for grant funding. Using a blend of didactic and small-group tutorials, learners will develop skills in areas critical to their development as independent researchers, including:
- Biostatistics
- Biomedical informatics
- Clinical trial design
- Regulatory affairs
- Research ethics
- Community engagement
To successfully complete this program, learners must create and submit a study plan/protocol, and/or submit their project to an internal or external funding agency. They will also present their project at a SYNERGY seminar.
Eligibility
Applicants to this program must be faculty and employees of Dartmouth or Dartmouth-Hitchcock or VA (MD, DO, PhD, DNP, or equivalent) who are nominated by their Department Chairs.
