Accepted Fellows will be notified of the exact start date.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details id=\"how-long-is-the-mpus-fellowship\" class=\"wp-block-details\">\n  <summary><strong>How long is the MPUS Fellowship?<\/strong><\/summary>\n  <p>8 weeks.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details id=\"how-many-apply\" class=\"wp-block-details\">\n  <summary><strong>How many students apply to the MPUS Fellowship?<\/strong><\/summary>\n  <p>Typically 100\u2013150 applicants per year.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details id=\"how-many-accepted\" class=\"wp-block-details\">\n  <summary><strong>How many students are accepted into the MPUS Fellowship?<\/strong><\/summary>\n  <p>Between 2\u20135 students per year.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details id=\"admissions-process\" class=\"wp-block-details\">\n  <summary><strong>What is the admissions process for the MPUS Fellowship?<\/strong><\/summary>\n  <p>Applications are accepted until the deadline, after which the directors make initial selections. Selected applicants will be invited to interview by phone or Skype. Offers will then be made to accepted Fellows, who will be notified by mid-March.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details id=\"interview-prep\" class=\"wp-block-details\">\n  <summary><strong>If offered an interview, how can I best prepare?<\/strong><\/summary>\n  <p>There is no guaranteed way to prepare. The interview helps us get to know you as a potential MPUS Fellow.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details id=\"international-eligibility\" class=\"wp-block-details\">\n  <summary><strong>Are international students on F-1 visas eligible to apply?<\/strong><\/summary>\n  <p>No. At this time, Fellows must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details id=\"summer-stipend\" class=\"wp-block-details\">\n  <summary><strong>How much is the summer stipend?<\/strong><\/summary>\n  <p>$1,000.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details id=\"patient-work\" class=\"wp-block-details\">\n  <summary><strong>Will I get to work with patients during this Fellowship?<\/strong><\/summary>\n  <p>Yes. Fellows work closely with a faculty member at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) one afternoon per week during the fellowship.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details id=\"rising-senior-gap-year\" class=\"wp-block-details\">\n  <summary><strong>I am a rising senior planning a research year before applying to MD-PhD programs. Can I still apply?<\/strong><\/summary>\n  <p>No. The fellowship is primarily for undergraduates who will still be enrolled upon completion of the summer program.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details id=\"gpa-lower\" class=\"wp-block-details\">\n  <summary><strong>My GPA is slightly lower than 3.3. What are my chances of acceptance?<\/strong><\/summary>\n  <p>GPA is one factor among several. A slightly lower GPA can be offset by a strong overall application.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details id=\"recommenders-mail\" class=\"wp-block-details\">\n  <summary><strong>Can my recommenders mail their letters to your contact address?<\/strong><\/summary>\n  <p>No. We strongly encourage email submission because it reduces paper and makes it easier to confirm receipt.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details id=\"deadline-expectations\" class=\"wp-block-details\">\n  <summary><strong>What is expected by the application deadline?<\/strong><\/summary>\n  <p>All application materials\u2014including recommendation letters\u2014must be submitted by the deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details id=\"application-complete\" class=\"wp-block-details\">\n  <summary><strong>How can I know if my application is complete?<\/strong><\/summary>\n  <p>Email us at <a href=\"mailto:dartmouthmpus@gmail.com\">dartmouthmpus@gmail.com<\/a> to check your status.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<details id=\"non-graduating-senior\" class=\"wp-block-details\">\n  <summary><strong>I am a non-graduating senior with little research background. Should I still apply?<\/strong><\/summary>\n  <p>By senior year, applicants are expected to have some research exposure to be competitive.
